We are Anna and Michael from Australia, a couple who share a profound love for Italy and its alluring lifestyle.

For 35 years, I, Anna, have been running a bustling dance studio, while Michael dedicated 35 years to healthcare before retiring in 2022.

Our dream of owning a home in Italy began in 2017, but like many, our plans took an unexpected turn in 2020 due to the global lockdowns. With my dance studio closed and Michael continuing his vital work in healthcare, I spent countless days and nights immersing myself in the virtual world, seeking ways to make our Italian dream a reality from afar. To say I was obsessed was an understatement.

Michael came on board soon after and we became "Italian Dream Chasers".

As you would expect friends and family didn't take us seriously. We stayed focused and with persistence long story short, we found our home remotely and with a trusted professional we achieved our dream of owning a piece of bella Italia in 2022. All along this journey we both applied for citizenship, and that's another story. Michael applied for his Maltese citizenship and I applied for my Italian citizenship. After many hoops we both now have European passports and dual citizenship.

During this time, we started a YouTube channel, initially to document our journey for family and friends. To our surprise, we found a thriving community of fellow Italian Dream Chasers who shared our passion for buying property in Italy. The connections and friendships we’ve made have been invaluable, motivating us to keep pursuing our dreams to purchase a second property.
The first few years were back and forth part time living between Australia and Italy but in 2026 we made the decision to move.
